Carol Shea-Porter has always supported regular people, the middle-class, our veterans, our disabled and elderly.  When I first heard her several years ago she was fighting to save Social Security and Medicare. Sadly, that fight is not over, and we need Carol back in Congress more than ever.

Carol is the real deal.  She is a regular person who has stepped up to the plate to fight for you and me.  She is dedicated, honest, and fierce in her determination to establish a just world.  I have never in my life felt so well represented in Congress as when Carol was in office.  We need to send her back to Washington to fight for middle class and working class families—both for us and for our children.

When Carol Shea Porter was in congress, she got things done.  This stands in stark contrast to our current congressman.  And as a veteran I notice how veterans, the people who protected our nation, are treated by the people governing our nation.  Carol Shea Porter's commitment to veterans is unparalleled.

Carol Shea-Porter is one of the real "straight shooters" to have served in Congress in the past decade.  She is honest and forthright about her positions on the issues, and does what she promises. She votes for programs most important to the social and economic welfare of her constituents and the country as a whole, and is independent enough to buck her party if she feels it's in the best interest of those she represents. This is the key difference between Carol and Frank Guinta, and why I strongly support her return to Congress to represent US!

I am supporting Carol Shea-Porter because she has proven that she will be an advocate for working people.  She isn't owned by corporate money.  Carol will represent the interests of the people of CD1, not big money Corporate PAC's.  NH needs its common sense voice back in Congress.

I support Carol because she was a hard-working and highly productive legislator and is always clear about what she stands for.  She will never be a pawn of big corporate interests and consistently focuses on doing what is best for average Americans.  Unlike her opponent, she is an open book.  On this website you will see that Carol is long on the specifics of her legislative accomplishments and her position on key issues.  When you go to her opponent's website you will find vague platitudes and statements that shift the blame to Democrats for his "do nothing" legislative term.  Carol is always accountable.  Her opponent is not.  I will vote for a strong work ethic and transparency.  I will vote for Carol.

To the next voter, I think we need Carol Shea-Porter back in the US Congress.  She knows the issues and stands up for the people in New Hampshire with a passion to do the next right thing. The Tea Party supporter that got in there last time has been known to vote to cut funding and then get his picture in the paper as if he supported the program he just defunded.  Carol is authentic. That is why I support her.

I’m voting for Carol.  She is honest & straightforward.  She is someone you & I can trust to do what is best for her constituency, rather than kowtowing to the political pressure of the moment.

Carol Shea-Porter supports the families and workers of New Hampshire.  She doesn’t take corporate or Wall Street money, so she isn’t beholden to them.  Carol puts our rights, needs and interests at the top of her agenda!  That’s why I support Carol.

I support Carol Shea-Porter because she’s a leader who stands up for the people of New Hampshire, for veterans and the military, and for our nation.  She cares about all of us and, when in office, worked tirelessly to serve us.  She knows that public office is a public trust, and she keeps her independence by never taking money from corporate PACs and DC lobbyists.  She’s honest and can’t be bought by special interests, and I know I can trust her.  We need her back in Congress representing us!

I watched Carol Shea-Porter during her first two terms as Congresswoman and was amazed at her rapid development as a major force in Congress.  Her energy, honesty, competence and wisdom were special.  She is a breath of fresh air from our current Representative.

I support Carol Shea-Porter because she is smart, honest and supports the best interests of New Hampshire people always. She isn't obligated to outside forces, so she doesn't have to dance to their tune. She knows how to listen to us, and she's able to work for us.

I am supporting Carol Shea Porter for Congress because she is supporting me.  She will work to help seniors, the middle class, families and veterans, all of which I am.  Working with President Obama to build a strong and lasting middle class, Ms. Shea Porter knows the only way to continue to bring this country back from the brink of disaster, brought on by Republican policies of tax cuts for the wealthy and de-regulation of Wall Street, is to invest in education and job creation and let economic growth growth bubble up to benefit everyone.

I endorse Carol Shea-Porter for Congress because I want to bring integrity back to Congress.
Carol is not owned by any special interest group. She works for all citizens of our state. That is unlike my current Congressman. I feel Carol understand New Hampshire and can fairly represent me.

Carol Shea-Porter is the first candidate that I supported because of who she is and not solely because of party label or policy positions.  While serving in Congress, Carol held many town halls often filled with those who adamantly opposed her.  Any open-minded person who attended one of her town halls would respect the forthrightness of the answers she gave. She is a transparent person who is who she seems to be. While in office, she kept her campaign promises, fighting for our veterans and always standing up for the middle class.

I endorse Carol Shea-Porter for Congressional District 1 in New Hampshire.  We need to bring integrity back to the Congress, and Ms. Shea-Porter has always voted in the best interest of New Hampshire and the country.  She is honest and available to all.  She will help this country move forward - toward a more workable, caring government.

I am pleased to endorse Carol Shea-Porter to represent me in Congress. As the Representative for NH-District 1 from 2007-2011, she spoke up for the bottom 99%--not just the wealthy and privileged. She cosponsored a bill to protect US troops from the disposal of toxic wastes and was able to expand healthcare for NH veterans.  Her support for increased Pell grants for college students shows her commitment to young people.  She actively worked to close the “donut-hole” for prescription drugs in Medicare reimbursements for senior citizens.  Her refusal to finance her campaign with corporate donations assures me that Carol will continue to work for all of us.

I stood in line while voting next to a veteran and civilian airline pilot. He was enthusiastic about how much Carol had helped them in dealing with the government. He was very determined in his support for her. While not a veteran, I continue to be impressed with how well Carol knows the issues and how clearly she explains her positions. She is a very straight forward person and does an excellent job of representing us...

When Carol first ran for the House of Representatives, we heard her speak to our local Democratic committee and knew immediately that she was the candidate we would support, and still do.  Her knowledge of the issues has been driven by her passionate concern for the struggles of the middle class, veterans and the poor.  She worked very hard to represent everyone in her district.

Carol was the hardest working representative in the House. When in office, she cared about the people of NH-1 and she and her staff were always available help with people’s problems. She studied proposed legislation carefully and voted to protect the needs of the working people and the disadvantaged. We were always able to count on her good judgment and knew she would make sound, well thought out decisions. No hint of scandal has ever been associated with her name. That's why we are proud to support her and to endorse her for another term in the House of Representatives.

I heartily endorse Carol Shea-Porter for Congresswoman from District One. She is truly concerned with the 99% of us. She stands up for us and she only takes money from ordinary people not large corporations and multimillionaires. Therefore, she can go to Congress not beholden to any one person or group, but can stand up for all of us. Please vote for Carol and return her to Congress where she can continue her work on behalf of the middle class.

My family knows all too well the high cost of private health insurance in New Hampshire. As we age, we need Medicare to remain as available and affordable for us as it currently is for seniors receiving it now. The Republican voucher plan for privatizing Medicare will be unaffordable to most New Hampshire seniors. We will vote for Carol Shea-Porter because she will preserve and protect Medicare and Social Security for us.

I am voting to return Carol Shea-Porter to Washington so that we can get a Congress that will take action on the critical complex challenges we face. It has been infuriating and frustrating to watch two years of Republican leadership and Guinta blocking and vetoing bills to stimulate jobs that the country desperately needs, voting to repeal landmark health care legislation (while offering no real alternative,) and refusing to compromise to find workable solutions to our pressing challenges. Carol Shea-Porter has demonstrated she can work collaboratively to enable government to do its part in helping create the positive change we need.

While serving in office from 2007 through 2010, Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter was known by her peers as one of the hardest working and most principled representatives in Washington. She sponsored, co-sponsored, and supported many bills that directly and immediately improved the lives of others, from an increase in the minimum wage, to expanded veterans' benefits, to campaign reform. When I say she was a tireless advocate for the middle class, I do not exaggerate, nor do I sufficiently describe her level of commitment. I am a proud supporter of Carol Shea-Porter for Congress, and am grateful for the opportunity to make this public announcement on her behalf. Citizen Shea-Porter needs to return to Washington, and with your financial help and vote in November, we will again have a fighter for the middle class at our side.

I am supporting Carol Shea-Porter to return to Washington as our Representative. As the past two years have shown Mr Guinta has failed to live up to the level of representation that Carol has delivered in her two terms as our representative. This is attested to by Carol's A+ rating and Mr Guinta's 9% rating from the research group Middleclass.org.

We need Carol Shea-Porter back in the House of Representatives so she can champion women's health, middle class families, veterans, gay couples, seniors, and children. She has no hidden agenda, and she will attack each issue with her signature energy and commitment.

Carol is not bought and paid for by some PAC, she is a real person, who represents the values and needs of the middle class in New Hampshire.  She stood up for the Naval Shipyard.  She voted to support health care reform that will help millions of people.  She is the only politician I ever met that will listen to her constituents and speak for them.  She is approachable.  She listens and responds - she will even stand up to her own party if she believes they are not standing up for what the people of NH need.  She is pro-education because she knows that only through an educated workforce can we grow economically.  She protects the environment which in NH which depends greatly on tourism and natural resources is extremely important.  When a bill is presented to her to support or not - she actually reads it and looks at how it will effect the people of NH.   She has the intelligence and analytical skills to look below the surface of the issue to the effects and how to problem solve the resolution of an issue.  She needs to let the people of NH see this side of her and that she really is for representing them the best she can.

As a member of our local energy committee, I have paid special attention to what the candidates are saying this year about climate change. We are working hard in Sandwich to do our part to reduce emissions from fossil fuel use. Carol is among the very few running for public office this year who seem to understand the challenges we face and the importance of having government representatives committed to doing something about it. Washington needs to get the message that this is serious business.

Carol is one of the people who are sending that message loud and clear. She also has the will and experience to carry the message to Washington and do something about it. I’ll be voting for her in November.

Carol Shea-Porter's motto for "the rest of us" has proven to be more than a slogan.  Since she is not beholden to corporate money, her focus in Washington has always been based on a dedication to New Hampshire citizens -- and not corporate interests.  We have big problems to tackle.  As our country works to fix a broken economy and revitalize the job market, more than ever we need Carol's experience and thoughtful leadership in Congress.

My step-son Stephen decided to enlist in the United States Army. My wife (his mother) informed his recruiter that he had a history of medical problems, including asthma and a seizure disorder. His recruiter informed my wife that he may have "out-grown " these conditions and he was eventually cleared by an army physician to enlist. During his first week in basic training at Fort Leavenworth, he had an asthma attack and was transferred to the infirmary. He languished there for a few weeks until I called Ms. Shea-Porter's office to help him come home back to New Hampshire. Her staff contacted the Army for us and within a few days Steve came home. He received the appropriate medical care and, three years later, he is a successful manager of a Subway franchise in Meredith. Without Ms. Shea-Porter's help, his medical condition may have worsened. We thank her for all of her support , and hope that when she is elected in November she can help other families in similar situations in our community.

Howard Dean reignited my commitment to community and to sound social policy in 2003, and Carol Shea-Porter has continued to give me reasons to admire and respect selfless politicians who are working “For the People.” It is time to send her back into the Washington fray for all our families and their futures.

When NHPTV asked me recently to fill out a candidate questionnaire about my run for the NH House, one of the questions was "What current political leader do you admire the most and why?"  I had no trouble coming up with an answer right off the bat.  Here's what I said:  "Carol Shea-Porter changed my entire perception of what an elected official should be. For the first time I could see that a congresswoman could be a woman just like me, and she has shown me what true public service is. She is also a great example of a grassroots candidate who can get elected without selling out to the big money interests."

While I am no longer in her district, since my town was redistricted into the 2nd Congressional District, Carol will always be my congresswoman. She is a brave, smart, and compassionate woman, and she has done, and will do again, an amazing job for the people of NH and the people of this country.  If we could only find a couple of hundred more like her across this land, we'd have a Congress that would do great work for the United States and all its citizens.  Please send her back to Congress, we need her.
