Guinta Plans to Skip RiverWoods Debate

Tea Party Candidate Set To Skip Seniors Event He Attended in 2012

EXETER—The Shea-Porter campaign has learned that Frank Guinta plans to skip a debate at RiverWoods Retirement Community on October 13th. Guinta’s no-show decision comes after his votes to weaken Medicare and Social Security drew criticism at the same venue in 2012.

“The Shea-Porter campaign challenges Frank Guinta to show up at RiverWoods and defend his record to the seniors whose interests he consistently voted against as a Tea Party Congressman,” said Shea-Porter spokeswoman Marjorie Connolly.

Unless Guinta changes his mind and agrees to attend the debate, Shea-Porter will appear alone at RiverWoods to discuss her work to protect and strengthen seniors’ earned benefits.

Guinta also skipped the 2014 Republican primary debate at RiverWoods on September 3rd, 2014, which was attended by all of the other candidates on the Republican First District primary ballot.
